DESCRIPTION:&amp;nbsp\;\n\nJoin us this Matariki for a heartwarming and practical panel discussion featuring acclaimed chefs Shaun Clouston (Head Chef/Co-owner\, Logan Brown)\, Francky Godhino (Head Chef/Owner\, St George’s)\, and Anne &amp;amp\; Innes Logan\, who bring lived experience with Young Onset Dementia.\n\nHosted by Winifred Henderson (Senior Educator\, Dementia NZ)\, this uplifting talk on “Fuel Your Mind” takes us on a shared journey to uncover:\n\n1. How important diet and nutrition are as potential protective factors for preventing/ delaying onset of dementia and supporting cognition in general\, in particular the foods included in the Mediterranean diet\n\n2. How to make meal preparation fun and inclusive for people living with dementia by enabling participation\n\n3. Since 2006\, and more recently as Co-founder of Liberty Restaurant\, Shaun has worked to honour New Zealand’s ingredients\, landscapes\, and people through thoughtful\, sustainably sourced dishes. Starting his culinary career at just 15 as an apprentice\, he has since built an internationally acclaimed portfolio – including a prestigious tenure at Dubai’s iconic Burj al-Arab\, the world’s only seven-star hotel.\nA perfectionist in the kitchen and the garden\, Francky is known for growing his own produce and demanding the highest standards from himself and his team. His excellence has earned him numerous accolades\, including being named New Zealand Chef of the Year twice. Founder and publisher of Spasifik magazine\, Innes has been an innovative achiever in the Pasifika\, ethnic\, multicultural lifestyle and magazine publishing market. Innes\, now 61\, has always been a voice for the community and is known for his integrity. He wants to do as much as he can\, while he can\, to help raise awareness for people living with Young Onset Dementia and strive for more age-appropriate care and support. His wife Anne is very supportive and the driving force behind The Young Onset Dementia Collective who are working to redefine what it means for people living with Young Onset Dementia\, their carers and whanau.\n\n\n[/av_one_third]\n\n&amp;nbsp\;
