UPDATED

Participants wanted! Factors influencing care: the special case of advanced
care.
Kia ora kōutou,
With an ageing population and an increasing chronic disease burden in Aotearoa/New
Zealand, it is vital to understand more about the experiences of those advanced care context
(e.g palliative care, hospice care and aged care). People who work with patients with lifelimiting illness offer a unique and important form of care. These contexts provide particular
challenges that are not well understood.
We are recruiting medical specialists, nurses, and allied workers (e.g healthcare assistants,
nurse aids, nurse auxiliaries) that are over 18 years old, proficient in English, currently
working in New Zealand, and with patients experiencing life-limiting illnesses, conditions or
advanced diseases (e.g. Palliative care, Hospice care or aged-care).
Participation in this study involves completing some anonymous questionnaires and
responding to some hypothetical patient situations. We anticipate that participation will take
less than 30 minutes to complete. All study data will be anonymous and kept confidential to
the research team.
Having completed the study, you will be given the option to go into the draw to win one of
five $100 Countdown vouchers.
