Living Well Activities

We enable people to access a range of dementia-friendly activities such as golf, music therapy, singing groups, walking groups, reading clubs and art therapy. Some activities are supported directly by Dementia Wellington and are ongoing, while others run for a few weeks or are independent of us. Have a chat with your Dementia Advisor about any ideas and options that may suit you.

Dementia Friendly Activities

Across the region, there is a variety of activities for people with mate wareware dementia and their supporters/friends to enjoy.

We plan to keep adding to this list as more activities become known to us, so please do keep checking back to see whats on, we encourage you to have a go and try something new !

Assisted Golf 1 x Monday each month.  Need to have played golf in the in the past, pick up and drop, for people who are living with dementia. Contact John Matthews E:

Soundswell Friday mornings, Johnsonville.  Choir for neuro diverse, led by music therapists.  Contact Megan E:

Senior Social Drama Various times and days in Johnsonville, Newtown, Strathmore, Karori, Tawa/Linden, Petone, Naenae and Porirua.  Suggested for early stage dementia/Mild Cognitive impairment and supporters/whanau. Contact Nicola Pauling, Voice Arts E:

Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club offers dementia friendly golf with just 9 holes and volunteer golfers to provide support.
Third Monday of the month, and volunteers will transport you to and from your home. For
