Keeping Your Story Safe – How a New Client Management System Will Help Improve Support
This year, Dementia New Zealand Affiliates moved to a shared client management system called Recordbase, supplied by Wild Bamboo, a trusted provider of client information systems for health and social services.
While this is a behind-the-scenes change, it’s designed to make a real difference for people living with dementia | mate wareware and their care partners.
Why This Matters
This change makes it easier for our teams to stay connected and provide consistent, timely support – wherever you are.
Here’s what it means for you:
• Less waiting: We can now see where spaces are available in groups and programmes, meaning faster access to the support you need.
• Smoother transitions: If you move to another region, your information can move with you – reducing the need to repeat your story.
• Better continuity: The people supporting you will have up-to-date information, helping them provide the right care at the right time.
• Easier follow-ups: It’s now simpler to keep track of your progress and support needs.
Your Privacy is Always Protected
Your privacy has always been important, and that hasn’t changed. Recordbase has strong security features, including multi-factor authentication to keep information secure. Access to records is strictly controlled – for example, only Dementia Wellington staff can access Dementia Wellington client records.
Only the right people can see your information, and only when it’s needed to support you directly.
Supporting the Wider Dementia Community
Over time, this new system will help us better understand how people across Aotearoa are accessing community dementia | mate wareware services – from support groups and education sessions to one-on-one advice.
That means we’ll be in a stronger position to plan services, identify what’s working well, and advocate for the kinds of support people really need – in every community we serve.
