Expired Dementia Themed Pecha Kucha
The Dementia Hawkes Bay team is delighted to be involved in this thought-provoking evening of storytelling, insight, and lived experiences at PechaKucha, where speakers will share personal perspectives on dementia in a fast-paced, engaging format.
For those unfamiliar with PechaKucha, the format — translated from Japanese as chit-chat — allows presenters to tell their stories using 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds. It’s a bit like a TED Talk, but faster and with pictures!
Speakers include –
- Alister Robertson, who will speak on advocacy and living with dementia.
- Glenn Pickering, who will share his experience as a care partner while raising young children.
- Tracey Lanigan, Dementia Hawkes Bay CEO, who will discuss the organisation’s role in supporting the community.
- Wendy Schollum, HDC councillor and Chair of the Positive Ageing Trust
- Charity Norman, author of the novel Remember Me in which the central character’s father has dementia.
While you’re there visit our team in the foyer and pick up a memento of the evening.
All proceeds from ticket sales and donations go directly towards Dementia Hawkes Bay support services, so come along, learn, and be inspired!
