Two thirds of the Dementia Canterbury budget comes from fundraising, including our Annual Appeal. We need volunteer collectors – can you help? Please contact us at appeal@dementiacanterbury.org.nz or on 03 379 2590 ext 216 or 0800 444 776 (West Coast 0800 259 226) as soon as possible. If you are unable to collect, please click here to donate instead. Thank you for your support.
Garage sales, bake sales and barbeque’s are easy and enjoyable ways to raise funds for the dementia-community and anyone can do it! Just gather clothing, kitchen items, furniture, collectables and other desirable items and set up shop in your garage or at a market. If you love getting busy in the kitchen, you could whip up a whole lot of cupcakes, cookies and slices and sell them for a couple of dollars each. If you prefer a good old barbeque then a sausage sizzle might be the way to go for you.
Need a reason to get active? Or perhaps you want to do something in memory of a friend or family member you lost to dementia? Why not set yourself a physical challenge and participate in a running, cycling, swimming or triathlon event! Get your friends and family to sponsor you to make a difference for people living with dementia.
For your special day, such as your birthday or wedding, or for Christmas, you could ask friends and family to support the work of Dementia Canterbury, rather than giving presents.
