Dementia is a growing health issue, not just in New Zealand but also around the world. It is currently estimated that approximately 70 000 New Zealanders have dementia. About 1 in 100 people in their 60s are estimated to be affected and 1 in 3 people over the age of 90. The number of people living with dementia is expected to rise sharply in the next few decades as our growing ageing population lives longer.
Dementia Canterbury is a registered charity, and we rely on the support of our local community to help us deliver the services that our clients need. When you support Dementia Canterbury with your donations, time or fundraising efforts, you are helping others to access the support they need.
