Health and Disability Self-advocacy

Educational Webinar with Health and Disability Advocate Emma Cooper-Williams

Join us for our first Dementia Talk of 2026: Health and Disability Self-advocacy. This educational webinar will be presented by Emma Cooper-Williams, Health and Disability Advocate with the Nationwide Health and Disability Advocacy Service, and hosted by Winifred Henderson, Senior Educator at Dementia New Zealand.

Health and Disability Advocates are available across New Zealand to help people navigate challenges with their care. They work alongside individuals to understand their needs and support them in accessing the care they deserve.

In this online webinar, we’ll focus on building confidence in self-advocacy. Learn what self-advocacy means in practice and discover simple tools you can use – whether you’re making a phone call, writing an email, or speaking up in a meeting for yourself or someone you care about.

Date: Friday, 27th February 2026
Time: 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Host: Winifred Henderson – Senior Educator, Dementia New Zealand
Online via Zoom. A recording of this webinar will be emailed to those who registered the week following the live event.
