Everyday banking tools that can help

With the right systems in place, everyday banking can remain simple and secure.

If you or someone close to you is living with dementia, Westpac can help with your banking needs. They can support with:

  • Setting up account alerts that notify you of unusual activity
  • Direct debits or automatic payments, so regular bills are paid on time
  • Choosing the right accounts or simplifying their banking
  • Withdrawal limits on debit or EFTPOS cards
  • Adding trusted contacts who can be notified if any concerns arise.

They’ll explain what options are available that best meet your needs.

Planning ahead

Early planning can help ensure your wishes are respected and can make things easier for the people supporting you.

It’s important to ensure that you have the following in place:

  • An updated will
  • An Enduring Power of Attorney (EPOA) for both your Property and Personal Care and Wellbeing
  • Your future wishes shared with whānau or trusted friends, and your financial affairs in order
